Service for Dr Dewey Ballew

Sadly, our Dental Family has lost another one of our finest - retired member Dr. Dewey Ballew, on July 19th at the age of 87.

After graduating from high school from Tahlequah Central High in May 1948, Dewey enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served in the Korean War Conflict with the 45th Infantry.  After his military service, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northeastern State College in 1956. Dewey worked as a teacher/coach of girls basketball in Severy, Kansas until he earned a doctorate degree in Dentistry from University of Missouri Kansas City in 1963. Dr. Dewey opened his own dental practice in Broken Arrow in 1963 which he operated for 51 years until his retirement.  He is survived by son Brent and Lin Ballew; daughter Brenda and Greg Griffin; daughter Linda and Shawn Newkirk; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life-wife Maxine, son Kenneth, and great-granddaughter Danielle.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this most difficult time.
